Dr. Vu Ho

Dr. Ho was born in South Vietnam and immigrated with his family to the United States in 1975. He grew up as the middle child of three in rural Minnesota, where he helped run the family restaurant business. Inspired by his own physicians and a strong interest in science, he knew the medical profession was his calling. He was drawn to Plastic Surgery because of its requirement for artistic appreciation and attention to detail.

He completed his undergraduate degree in biology as a Presidential Scholar at St. John’s University, and went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Minnesota. As a medical student, he received numerous awards, including recognition from the International Hearing Foundation. He then finished a General Surgery internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. His four-year residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery was completed at the University of Minnesota. Throughout residency, he wrote publications and made presentations at national meetings, and received a research grant for wound-healing studies. An additional year of specialized fellowship training devoted to Facial Plastic Surgery was done at the University of Michigan. During this time, he also served as a staff physician and consultant for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is also active in humanitarian medical work and was part of a medical mission to Vietnam in 2004, sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Ho is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.

Now that he’s living in Texas, he does not miss the cold northern winters. His free time is usually spent with friends and family, or traveling. His international excursions have included visits to many places throughout Europe and Southeast Asia. These experiences have inspired his talent for photographing the many people and places he has encountered during his journeys. He also enjoys cooking ethnic cuisine and bicycling.

Dr. Ho’s practice philosophy is to deliver personalized care by attending to your specific needs to help you look and feel your best. By appreciating the unique character and qualities of each individual, he strives to achieve natural-looking results that enhance your best features.
